Following the Battle of the Bitter End, Jake Valent's Outbound Legion continued to fight the Order on Rodus and the rest of the Rose System. Led by the Triton, Samurai Squadron, Nafalli and British Alliance allies, the Order has been pushed out for the most part.

During their hard-won break, the crew of the Triton is preparing for an important double wedding between. Jacob Valent and Ayan Anderson, as well as Minh-Chu "Ronin" Bu and Ashley Lamport, with Terry Ozark McPatrick and Lymeen Dulth officiating. Alice and Rogue have finally come together for the occasion in the Botanical Gallery as hundreds of millions of people watch the event remotely.

Their enemies aren't on holiday. They're watching the festivities while moving on with their plans far from the Bitter End Base and the Rose System. The celebration marks a union for everyone who believes in the Legion and Haven Nation, but it also bolsters the will of the enemy. Their efforts threaten to take away every advantage the Legion and their allies have while securing a supply of a new telepathy drug that will win them the war.
